I am sixteen years old and I am a junior at Brentwood High School. My scientific interests include the evolution of bats and their phylogenies. In the Davalos lab I am studying the convergent evolution in feeding morphologies of Phyllostomid bats. I analyzed a molecular phylogeny of the Phyllostomid bats with added feeding habits of each species. I hypothesize that every feeding habit has evolved more than once, and distantly related species look similar due to convergent evolution.
